Werner Thiede

Werner Thiede (born 1955) is a theologian with a doctorate and postdoctoral qualification. He served as a pastor in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Bavaria and taught Systematic Theology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, becoming an adjunct professor in 2007 after working there as a private lecturer. Thiede has published numerous scholarly and popular works, essays, and radio contributions on theological, religious, denominational, and philosophical questions. His monographs include The Crucified Meaning (2007), Digital Tower of Babel (2015), Protestant Church — Ship Without a Compass? (2017), and Immortality of the Soul (2022). A collected edition of his Christian hymns was published in 2023.
