Jeremy Adler (born 1947) is the son of the writer H. G. Adler (1910–1988). He taught German at King’s College London and published on Goethe, Kafka, and German-language exile literature. His publications include a monograph on Goethe’s “Elective Affinities” (1987), the catalogue “Text als Figur,” co-edited with Ulrich Ernst (1989), and an edition of August Stramm’s “Dichtungen” (1990). In 1999 he edited H. G. Adler’s novel “Eine Reise” and, with Richard Fardon, Franz Baermann Steiner’s “Selected Writings.” He also published several volumes of poetry, including “At the Edge of the World” (1994).
