Kristian Wachinger

Kristian Wachinger, born in Munich in 1956, trained as a bookseller and publishing bookseller. He studied German and Romance languages and literature in Munich, Hamburg and Nantes, or elsewhere in France, and worked for around three decades as a publishing editor. He also translated works by, among others, Giacomo Casanova, Prosper Mérimée, Georges Simenon and Laurent Binet. From 2003 onward, he served as co-editor of several editions from the literary estate of Elias Canetti and was a member of the board of the Canetti Foundation in Zurich.
