Christoph Meckel

Christoph Meckel (1935–2020) was a German writer and graphic artist. He studied painting and graphic arts in Freiburg, Munich, and Paris and worked freelance as an author and artist from the mid-1950s onward. In addition to novels and stories, he published numerous volumes of poetry and graphic cycles; his works include “Tarnkappe” and “Kein Anfang und kein Ende.” His literary work received numerous awards, including the Rainer Maria Rilke Prize, the Georg Trakl Prize, the Joseph Breitbach Prize, the Hölty Prize for his life’s work in poetry, and the Johann Peter Hebel Prize.
