Jeffrey Herf

Jeffrey Herf (born 1947) is an American historian and professor emeritus of modern European, particularly German, history at the University of Maryland. His research has focused on twentieth-century German history, the history of the Holocaust, and memory and politics in divided Germany. His notable works include “Zweierlei Erinnerung. Die NS-Vergangenheit im geteilten Deutschland” (1998) and “The Jewish Enemy: Nazi Propaganda During World War II and the Holocaust” (2006).
