Armin Nassehi (born 1960 in Tübingen) is a sociologist who held a professorship at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He studied philosophy, sociology, education and psychology. His research has focused on political sociology as well as the sociology of culture, organizations, knowledge and religion. From 2011 onward, he served as editor of the journal “Kursbuch.” His publications include “Mit dem Taxi durch die Gesellschaft,” “Muster. Theorie der digitalen Gesellschaft” and “Das große Nein. Eigendynamik und Tragik gesellschaftlichen Protests.” In 2018, the German Sociological Association honored him with an award for outstanding achievements in public engagement with sociology.
