Nele Pollatschek

Nele Pollatschek, born in Berlin in 1988, studied English literature and philosophy in Heidelberg, Cambridge and Oxford, completing her doctorate in 2018. Her debut novel, »Das Unglück anderer Leute«, was published in 2016 and received the Friedrich Hölderlin Promotion Prize in 2017 and the Grimmelshausen Promotion Prize in 2019. Her nonfiction book »Dear Oxbridge. Liebesbrief an England« followed in 2020. Her novel »Kleine Probleme«, published in 2023, became a bestseller. Pollatschek was named Cultural Journalist of the Year in 2023 and 2024; she also received the German Reporter Award in 2022 and the Promotion Prize for Comic Literature in 2024.
