Gerhard Waldherr

Gerhard Waldherr, born in 1960 in Bad Tölz, is an author, reporter, and journalist. He was a professional ice hockey player and holds a degree in business administration from a university of applied sciences. His journalistic career included positions as a sports editor at Süddeutsche Zeitung, a reporter at Stern, and a freelance correspondent in New York and the United States. From 2006 to 2015, he was chief reporter at the business magazine brand eins. His reportage appeared in publications including GEO, Die Zeit, Merian, and Greenpeace Magazin, received journalism awards, and was nominated for the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize and the German Reporter Award. His books include »Elvis ist tot«, »Bruttoglobaltournee«, »Deutsch kunde«, and »Beton und Bytes«. He also edited the anthology »Die erste Reise«.
