Christian Eichler (born 1959 in Wanne-Eickel, Germany) is a German sports journalist whose work focuses on football. After studying library science and working as a qualified librarian, he became a freelance journalist, writing among other publications for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Kicker, Die Welt and Welt am Sonntag. From 1989 onward, he worked in the sports department of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Eichler received the Grand Prize of the Association of German Sports Journalists and was awarded the Fair Play Prize for Sports Journalism twice.
