Ronald Reng, born in 1970 in Frankfurt, is an author and sports reporter. From 1996 to 2001, he lived in London and spent many years working as a sports reporter and writer in Barcelona. His debut, »Der Traumhüter«, about goalkeeper Lars Leese’s career in the English Premier League, became a bestseller in Germany and won the award for the best sports book of 2004 in the United Kingdom. His biography of Robert Enke remained in the top five of the SPIEGEL bestseller list for ten weeks. Reng received the NDR Kultur Sachbuchpreis for »Spieltage. Die andere Geschichte der Bundesliga«, which was also named Football Book of the Year in 2013. Further Football Book of the Year awards went to »Mroskos Talente. Das erstaunliche Leben eines Bundesliga-Scouts« in 2016 and »Der große Traum« in 2022.
