Andreas Wenderoth, born in 1965, studied political science and geography at Freie Universität Berlin. After completing a traineeship at the Berliner Zeitung, he worked as a freelance reporter and author for publications and broadcasters including GEO, SZ-Magazin, Die Zeit, Brigitte, mare, Deutschlandradio Kultur and WDR. He received the Theodor Wolff Prize for a report and was also nominated several times for the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize, the Henri Nannen Prize and the German Reporter Award. His book Ein halber Held, about a distinctive story of dementia, was published in 2016.
