Lucas Vogelsang (born 1985) is a German author and reporter. He has written for publications including Tagesspiegel, Die Zeit, Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, Playboy and Stern. He received the Henri Nannen Prize in 2010, the German Reporter Award in 2013 and the Hansel Mieth Award in 2015 for a report about his apartment block in Berlin’s Wedding district. In 2018, he was named Ruhr city writer. His books include “Heimaterde. Eine Weltreise durch Deutschland” (2017) and “ZEITLUPEN” (2021). Football is a recurring point of reference in his work; before becoming an author, Vogelsang had pursued a career as a footballer.
