Barbara Schaefer

Barbara Schaefer, born in 1961, is a German journalist and author. She worked as a feuilleton editor and published travel features in newspapers and magazines including the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, GEO-Special and BRIGITTE. Her books include the travel volumes »Lappland«, »Amalfi/Cilento« and »Neapel«, as well as »Inseln des Nordens« and »Südliches Afrika«, co-written with Rasso Knoller. In 2019, she was named among the Top Ten travel journalists of the year. Her work as a travel writer also included accounts of unusual hotels, particularly literary hotels.
