Bernd Eilert

Bernd Eilert, born in Oldenburg in 1949, studied theatre studies at the University of Marburg and worked as a freelance author for radio, television, film, theatre and magazines. He contributed to the satirical magazine Pardon and co-founded the satirical magazine Titanic in 1979. In the 1980s, he wrote texts and screenplays for the comedian Otto Waalkes together with Robert Gernhardt and Peter Knorr. He also published a crime novel, short stories and texts accompanying images. Eilert is associated with the New Frankfurt School. His work as a storyteller and translator was recognised with the LiteraTour Nord Prize and the Binding Culture Prize.
