Steffen Kopetzky

Steffen Kopetzky (born 1971) is a German author of novels, short stories, radio plays, and plays for the theater. His notable novels include Risiko (2015), Propaganda (2019), Monschau (2021), and Damenopfer (2023). Risiko was longlisted for the German Book Prize and, like Monschau, appeared on the Spiegel bestseller list; Propaganda was nominated for the Bavarian Book Prize. From 2002 to 2008, Kopetzky served as artistic director of the Bonn Theater Biennale. In 2024, he received the Literature Prize of the Stahlstiftung Eisenhüttenstadt.
