Bart Moeyaert

Born in Bruges in 1964, Bart Moeyaert is a Belgian author of children’s and young adult literature. His literary debut was published in 1983, when he was 19. His work has received numerous awards, including the German Youth Literature Prize in 1998 and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2019. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages. Notable works include *Brothers*, *You Are There, You Are Gone*, *Beyond the Milky Way* and *Bianca*. Moeyaert also writes screenplays and plays, and in 2016 he served as artistic director of Flanders and the Netherlands’ guest appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
