Franz Zauleck was born in Berlin in 1950. From 1971 to 1976, he studied stage design at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art. He then worked as a set and costume designer at the Deutsches Theater Berlin until 1984. From 1984 onward, he worked as an illustrator and graphic designer.
