Aljoscha Blau

Aljoscha Blau was born in 1972 in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg, and moved to Germany in 1990. He studied illustration and graphic design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. He subsequently worked as a freelance artist and illustrator, primarily for children’s and picture-book publishers. He illustrated numerous books and received several awards, including the German Children’s Literature Award, the BolognaRagazzi Award, the Austrian State Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, and the Troisdorf Picture Book Prize. His award-winning work includes illustrations for “Die Geschichte der Wirtschaft” and “Schwester”.
