Ursula Illert (born 1946 in Klein-Auheim am Main) is a German actress and voice performer. She studied at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and spent 16 years in permanent theater engagements, including in Pforzheim, at the Landestheater Tübingen, and in Nuremberg. From 1986 onward, she worked freelance as a voice performer for German radio and television. She recorded documentaries, poetry, prose, audiobooks, and audio guides, and appeared in numerous radio plays. Among her best-known recordings are several Agatha Christie mysteries, as well as radio plays such as Hans Magnus Enzensberger’s “The Number Devil” and Jane Austen’s “Emma.” Recitations and public readings were another important part of her artistic work.
