Rudolf Hermstein

Rudolf Hermstein, born in 1940, studied languages in Germersheim and worked as a freelance translator from English from 1971 onward. He translated works by, among others, William Faulkner, Doris Lessing, Gore Vidal, Robert M. Pirsig, Allan Gurganus, and Frank McCourt into German. His work was recognized with the City of Munich Literature Grant and several grants from the German Translators’ Fund.
