Sigmar Gabriel

Sigmar Gabriel, born in 1959 in Goslar, is a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). His political involvement began with the youth organization Die Falken. He served as Minister-President of Lower Saxony from 1999 to 2003. He later held the federal offices of Minister for the Environment (2005–2009), Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy (2013–2017), and Minister for Foreign Affairs (2017–2018). Gabriel was chair of the SPD from 2009 to 2017 and Vice Chancellor of Germany from 2013 to 2018. He was a member of the German Bundestag until November 2019.
