Henriette Reker, born in 1956, is a lawyer and non-partisan municipal politician. From 2000 to 2010, she served as deputy mayor responsible for social affairs, health and consumer protection in Gelsenkirchen, followed by a term as deputy mayor responsible for social affairs, integration and the environment in Cologne from 2010 to 2015. She was elected Lord Mayor of Cologne in 2015 and re-elected in 2020 with the support of Alliance 90/The Greens and the CDU.
