Philipp Lahm

Philipp Lahm, born in 1983 in Munich, is a German former footballer. He played for FC Bayern Munich and the German national team, which he captained. With Germany, he won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Rio de Janeiro and led the team to third place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Lahm was internationally respected for his fair and intelligent play as a full-back. He was named German Footballer of the Year for 2016/17. Beyond football, he has been involved through the Philipp Lahm Foundation in supporting children and young people.
