Georgine Kellermann, born in Ratingen in 1957, began working as a journalist for the local editorial office of the Rheinische Post before completing secondary school. She joined WDR in 1983, initially serving as a regional correspondent for Duisburg and the Lower Rhine. From 1992, she worked as an editor for the ARD-Morgenmagazin and reported as an ARD correspondent from Washington, D.C., and Paris. She later headed the ARD bureau in Bonn and WDR studios in Duisburg and Essen. In 2019, Kellermann publicly came out as a trans woman.
