Jennifer Clement

Jennifer Clement was born in Connecticut in 1960 and grew up in Mexico City. She studied literature in New York and Paris and has published poetry and several novels, including Prayers for the Stolen and Gun Love. From 2015 to 2018, she served as president of PEN International, advocating freedom of expression for writers worldwide. Prayers for the Stolen, about the fate of kidnapped girls in Mexico, achieved international success.
