ADEFRA (Schwarze deutsche Frauen/ Schwarze Frauen in Deutschland)

ADEFRA (Black German Women/Black Women in Germany) is an association and initiative of Black women founded in 1986. The organization works to promote the empowerment, self-determination, and self-organization of Black women and lesbians. Activists associated with ADEFRA include Katja Kinder, Ria Cheatom, and Ekpenyong Ani. Other areas of the association’s work include exchange, education, counseling, support for Black women and girls, cooperation, and professional networks.
