Roland Borgards

Roland Borgards (born 1968) is a literary scholar. After studying in Freiburg and Lyon, he completed his doctorate and habilitation in Giessen. His academic career included professorships in Würzburg and Seattle before leading to the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. His publications include “Poetik des Schmerzes. Physiologie und Literatur von Brockes bis Büchner” (2009) and “Texts, Animals, Environments. Zoopoetics and Eco.poetics” (2019). He also co-edited “Von Fliegenfängern und Katzenklappen” (2024) and the “Georg Büchner Jahrbuch.” His work includes a focus on the literary and cultural history of Romanticism.
