Antje Schlottmann earned a doctorate in social geography from the University of Jena. Her dissertation examined the relationship between language and space, using German reunification as a case study. From 2007 onward, she taught and conducted research at Goethe University Frankfurt, focusing among other areas on spatial communication, societal relationships with nature, and regional identity. She worked there as a professor of geography and geography education at the Institute of Human Geography. Her publications include Einführung in die neue Tiergeographie (2022).
