Hazel Brugger, born in 1993 in San Diego, California, is a US-American stand-up comedian and author. She grew up near Zurich and won the Swiss Poetry Slam Championship in 2013. Her column in the »Magazin« of the »Tages-Anzeiger« earned her awards as Best New Journalist in 2015 and Columnist of the Year in 2016. She received the Salzburger Stier in 2017 and the German Comedy Award for Best Comedian in 2020. Her first book, »Ich bin so hübsch«, was published as a collection of stories and became a bestseller. Her stage program »Tropical« was released on Netflix in 2020.
