Peter Kemper

Peter Kemper (born 1950) is a German journalist, publicist, music critic and author. He studied philosophy, German studies and social sciences in Marburg and received a doctorate. From 1986 to 2003, he headed the Abendstudio at Hessischer Rundfunk; he subsequently worked as an editor for the hr2 radio programme Doppelkopf and was involved in editorial responsibility for the German Jazz Festival Frankfurt until 2015. From 1981 onward, he wrote music criticism for the feuilleton of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He also served as a juror for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. His publications include books on John Coltrane, Eric Clapton and the Beatles, as well as the rock lexicon Von ABBA bis Zappa.
