Paulina Czienskowski was born and raised in Berlin. She studied German and art history and spent periods living in the United States and Paris before returning to Germany for a journalism traineeship. As a freelance journalist, she published, among other places, in Die Zeit. Her works include the short-story collection »Manifest gegen die emotionale Verkümmerung« (2018) and the novel »Taubenleben« (2020), which was shortlisted for the European Union Prize for Literature. In 2021, her first radio play, »Aber sie dachten nichts zu Ende«, premiered on Deutschlandfunk Kultur. A further novel, »Dem Mond geht es gut«, was published by Blumenbar.
