Nina Hoss (born 1975 in Stuttgart) is a German actress. She recorded her first radio-play role at the age of seven and appeared on stage for the first time at 14. After studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, she performed at venues including the Deutsches Theater and the Schaubühne. She achieved her breakthrough in the title role of “Das Mädchen Rosemarie.” Her notable film and television credits include “Yella,” “Barbara,” “Phoenix,” “Anonyma – Eine Frau in Berlin,” and “Homeland.” For her performance in “Yella,” she received the Silver Bear and the German Film Award. She also won the Adolf Grimme Award in Gold in 2003 and 2005 and the German Audiobook Award for Best Interpreter for her reading of “Zur See.”
