Walter Adler

Walter Adler (born in 1947 in the Eifel region) is a German author and director of radio dramas and theater productions. After training at drama schools, he began his career as an assistant director at Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden. From 1971 onward, he directed more than 200 radio dramas and also worked on audiobook productions. Among his largest projects were the 24-hour radio adaptation of Tad Williams’s “Otherland,” featuring more than 250 participants, and Karl May’s “Orientzyklus” as a 12-hour production. He received the Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden, one of Germany’s major radio-drama awards, in 1976 for “Centropolis” and in 1978 for directing “Frühstücksgespräche in Miami”.
