Sophie Rois

Sophie Rois, born in Linz, is an Austrian actress and singer. She trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and joined Berlin’s Volksbühne in 1992 or 1993, remaining a member of its ensemble until 2017. She worked there with directors including Frank Castorf and René Pollesch, and joined Berlin’s Deutsches Theater in 2018. Rois has appeared in numerous film and television productions, including „Wir können auch anders“, „Liegen Lernen“, „The Manns – A Novel of the Century“ and „Three“. She received the Grimme Award for her portrayal of Erika Mann in „The Manns“ and the German Film Award for Best Actress for „Three“. She was also awarded the German Audiobook Prize twice as Best Performer.
