Hannelore Hoger

Hannelore Hoger (born 1942 in Hamburg) is a German actress and director. She studied at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg and later at the Lee Strasberg School in Los Angeles. She performed on stages in cities including Ulm, Bremen, Stuttgart, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg. Her film and television credits include appearances in “Artists Under the Big Top: Perplexed,” “The Bertinis,” “Heimat” and “Rossini.” She worked with directors including Alexander Kluge, Volker Schlöndorff, Peter Zadek and Helmut Dietl. She became widely known for playing the detective Bella Block, a role that earned her a Grimme Award.
