Ernst Jacobi

Ernst Jacobi (1933–2022) was a German actor. He trained at the Max Reinhardt School in Berlin and performed on stages in cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Vienna, and Zurich. His stage roles included Franz Moor, Galileo Galilei, and Dr. Möbius in Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s “The Physicists.” Jacobi also appeared in more than 200 film and television productions, including Volker Schlöndorff’s “The Tin Drum.” As a voice actor and narrator, he was heard in Michael Haneke’s film “The White Ribbon” and in radio plays based on “The Name of the Rose” and “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas.”
