Mathias Jeschke

Mathias Jeschke (born 1963 in Lüneburg) studied Protestant theology in Göttingen, Heidelberg and Rostock. From the 1990s onward, he worked as a publishing editor, including at the German Bible Society. He published poetry, children’s literature and translations, and edited LYRIKPAPYRI, a series of contemporary German-language poetry collections. His works include the poetry collection *Es traten Wälder aus mir heraus* and picture books about the “Wechstabenverbuchsler.” Jeschke received several grants and the Würth Literature Prize, and was nominated twice for the Merano Poetry Prize.
