Antonia Michaelis

Antonia Michaelis studied medicine in Greifswald and began writing as a child. She has published numerous novels and plays for children, young adults, and adults. Her young adult novel *The Storyteller* (*Der Märchenerzähler*) received several honors and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. Michaelis lived with her family in Madagascar for two years, where she helped establish a school for children living in poverty.
