Anke Kuhl

Anke Kuhl (born 1970) studied fine arts at the University of Mainz and visual communication at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. From 1998 onward, she was a freelance illustrator and a member of the LABOR studio collective in Frankfurt. She illustrated numerous picture books and children’s books and created works of her own, including “Cowboy will nicht reiten,” “Lehmriese lebt!” and “Manno! Alles genau so in echt passiert.” For “Cowboy will nicht reiten,” she received the Troisdorf Picture Book Fellowship and the Eulenspiegel Picture Book Prize. In 2011, “Alles Familie!” received the German Youth Literature Prize, and in 2019 Kuhl was awarded the Comic Book Prize of the Berthold Leibinger Foundation for “Manno!”
