Oren Lavie (born 1976 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli author, musician, composer, and video director who has also written plays. His album *The Opposite Side of the Sea* (2007) received an ASCAP award for best lyrics. Lavie was nominated for a Grammy and received the YDA Cannes Award. He has published three children’s books, which have been translated into more than twelve languages. His picture book *Konrad Kröterich auf der Suche nach der allerschönsten Umarmung* was nominated for the 2024 German Children’s and Young Adult Book Prize.
