Annika Scheffel

Annika Scheffel was born in Hanover in 1983 and studied applied theatre studies in Giessen, spending part of her studies in Bergen, Norway. She worked as a prose and screenwriter and wrote for children, young adults, and adults. Her debut novel, “BEN,” was published in 2010, received the sponsorship award of the Grimmelshausen Prize, and was selected for the SWR bestseller list. Her novel “Hier ist es schön” received the Robert Gernhardt Prize; she also received, among other distinctions, the Phantastik Prize of the City of Wetzlar. “Nelli und der Nebelort” was her debut children’s book.
