Daniel Bogner, born in 1972, is a theologian and professor of moral theology and ethics at the University of Fribourg. His research focuses on legal ethics, the relationship between religion and modernity, and human rights. He previously worked as a human rights adviser at the Secretariat of the German Bishops’ Conference and served, among other roles, on the leadership circle of the German Forum on Human Rights and the board of trustees of the German Institute for Human Rights. His publications include Love Cannot Fail: What Sexual Ethics Does the 21st Century Need? (2024) and, with Heiner Bielefeldt, Human Rights after the Turning Point (2025).
