Walter Lesch (born 1958) studied Roman Catholic theology, philosophy, Romance languages and literature, and education in Münster, Tübingen, Jerusalem and Fribourg. From 1988 to 1999, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. He subsequently taught as a professor of moral philosophy and social ethics at the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
