Burkhard Hose

Born in 1967, Burkhard Hose studied theology in Würzburg and Lucerne and was ordained a priest in 1994. After serving as a chaplain and in university pastoral work, he was appointed chaplain to students at the Catholic University Community in Würzburg in 2008. From 2007, he also held a leadership role in the Catholic Bible Association. In Würzburg, Hose was involved, among other things, in the refugee council, the Alliance for Democracy and Civic Courage, and the city’s ombudsman council against discrimination. He received the Würzburg Peace Prize in 2014 for this commitment. He has published several books, including “Warum wir aufhören sollten, die Kirche zu retten. Für eine neue Vision von Christsein” (2019) and “Systemrelevant – Neue Maßstäbe für unsere Gesellschaft”.
