Markus Vogt (born 1962), Dr. theol., professor of Christian social ethics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, studied theology and philosophy in Munich, Jerusalem and Lucerne. From 1992 to 1995, he worked as a research associate on the German Advisory Council on the Environment; from 2000 to 2006, he coordinated the environmental department of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences. His areas of work include environmental ethics, theories of justice, and political and peace ethics. In 2017, he received the International Prize of the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation for his work “Principle of Sustainability.”
