Carsten Regel was born in 1966 in West Berlin. From the 1980s onward, he worked as an editor and author. As a columnist for a customer magazine published by HypoVereinsbank, he became closely involved with global investment banking. Regel wrote novels and screenplays and also worked as a feature-film director. His published novels include *Hosen runter*, *SLUMLORDS – Ihnen gehört die Stadt*, and *SED, LSD und ein Hippie-Mädchen*. He also contributed as a screenwriter to the 2016 feature film *Wie Männer über Frauen reden*.
