Benedict Wells

Benedict Wells was born in Munich in 1984. After finishing secondary school, he moved to Berlin and decided against attending university in order to become a writer, supporting himself initially through various jobs. His best-known novels include *Vom Ende der Einsamkeit* and *Hard Land*. *Vom Ende der Einsamkeit* remained on the bestseller list for more than 80 weeks and received, among other distinctions, the 2016 European Union Prize for Literature. *Hard Land* received the German Youth Literature Prize in the Youth Jury category in 2022.
