Susanne Fischer

Susanne Fischer (born 1960 in Hamburg) is a literary scholar, journalist, and writer. She studied German and political science and worked as a contributor for several newspapers, including the taz. Her publications include novels, short stories, and children’s books. As managing director and executive board member of the Arno Schmidt Foundation, she oversaw editions including the Bargfelder Ausgabe of Arno Schmidt’s works and the diaries of Alice Schmidt; she also edited works by Peter Rühmkorf. She received the Ben-Witter Prize for her column on the taz satire page “Die Wahrheit.”
