Mihran Dabag

Prof. Dr. Mihran Dabag was a founding director and member of the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Research at Ruhr University Bochum, where he taught modern and contemporary history. His research focused on comparative genocide studies, the theory and methodology of violence research, diaspora, nationalism and national movements. Other areas of his scholarly work included transformation and collective violence in the Ottoman Empire, the history and ideology of the Young Turk movement, and collective memory, cultures of remembrance, and memory politics.
