Irmtrud Wojak

Irmtrud Wojak is a German historian, writer and exhibition curator. She earned her doctorate at Ruhr University Bochum with a study of exile in Chile and completed her habilitation at Leibniz University Hannover with a biography of the jurist and attorney general Fritz Bauer (1903–1968). She published a widely recognized biography of Bauer. Wojak curated the first major exhibition on the Auschwitz Trial and founded the nonprofit BUXUS STIFTUNG in 2013. In 2020, she initiated the Fritz Bauer Forum in Bochum. Her academic work has been supported by several fellowships, including a 2014–15 fellowship at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
